Have we got good Karma or not...?

“Zen Buddhism”

The art of living life mindfully,

Remember the cart, goes after the horse,

I meditate and hope to achieve enlightenment,

As I hope this life cycle is my last on this earth,

For there are far greater realms to be had,

 But definitely not in Baghdad.

We try throughout this life, to avoid another,

We clean up our acts, our karma gets scrubbed,

But even then sometimes, we are returned,

To re-do what we did wrong, or change our view,

I believe that I have changed myself,

From my last life of disgrace,

But have I done so better or at a slower pace?

When will we find out, whether we are or are not?

When do we see if we have advanced alot?

Do we have to wait till death to get our cosmic report cards?

Can we be for-warned or are we barred by a comic bodyguard?

I guess a safeguard would be the case,

But just once, I would love to know in advance,

So I could in life, backspace, and try to replace,

  My bad karma and debase…

Not in Baghdad? This is very interesting, but that line is almost humorous compared to the rest of the write. I thought it was going to be an antiwar poem. :)

Life wouldn't be worth living if we knew how everything would turn out ahead of time. It would be boring in the extreme, I suspect.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Heart felt write! I think as long as we do our best we cannot expect anything better from ourselves. As long as we are asking, we are doing okay :-)

Hi Ed:

This was a wonderful write. We all strive for understanding, understanding goes with experience. Some experience are good; but then there are the bad ones which haunts us. Once the karma is gone it became destroyers, their destruction will always haunt us. It's upto us to get up and move on...but it's more difficult for some because of the destruction that was involved.

The destroyer will have to live with their conscience when they see that the beautiful lives they have destroyed.

Anyway, I have said too much already.

Ed, I agree it would be nice to know in advance (I think) but then that would eliminate the Free Will part. Anyway, I figure just love with everything that's in you, let truth and honest guide your every move, meditate and pray...the rest will come naturally. But then again, I'm not a Zen Buddist. Good write...and food for thought.
Blessings,
Libby
