Can't Sleep

Early in the morning & can't sleep, might as well write...

       “CAN’T SLEEP”

Awake at 4am, can’t get back to sleep,

Reflux the culprit, popcorn the cause,

Or maybe it was the TV dinner,

Either way, it’s neither here nor there,

I am up, with nothing to do but write,

So here I sit in front of my computer,

Writing little ditties to add to my site.

Sleeping, of late, has become a chore,

          Would rather be doing something,

Even if it were a bore,

Better than getting to the point,

Of saying that sleeping is a chore,

                      anymore…

Oh please don’t let that happen,

The only thing, other than driving,

               I do well is sleeping,

Don’t let it become just another bore,

But sleep will come tonight & more,

In fact, I can feel myself creeping up to sleep,

                  As we speak.

So before I fall asleep on the keyboard,

Let me end here and to my bedroom walk

                      toward…

                                                                (ed)

Interesting. Sometimes I have acid reflux too, but I have found that if I don't eat after about six p.m. it doesn't happen. It doesn't help insomnia though.
