Boy, there are just some poems I write that the category does not exist for, not sure where to put this one, so under poetry it goes...

“TODAY”

Such a day in January that never was,

For a thaw,

Even though frozen,

We have not been, of late,

The warmth was enough to sit around in the raw.

A wonderful day to open all the windows,

And air out the old rig,

A perfect day,

A beautifully warm day,

To go to the beach,

But instead stayed home and played,

Both on the computer and with myself,

Hope Rufuz didn’t mind,

But out he stayed all day,

      On the line.

By the end of this week,

Or so the weather experts (?) say,

The temps will be in the single digits,

On the Fahrenheit scale that is,

So we will back in the deep freeze,

Will have to run the heater more, oh geez.

But for today and tomorrow,

We have some warmth,

Better to stay home,

Than spend money I don’t have,

And have gone to the beach,

As Rufuz does seem to like it out on his leash,

Water he has,

And some biscuits given him by his dad,

And a couple of walks to let him pee & poop,

And wrestle with dad,

So he doesn’t feel rejected, both he and dad,

Dad really ought to make something to eat,

Maybe a cheese omelet and home fries,

Now that sounds like something of a treat?

It has been a warm day hasn't it? Seems to be covering a large land. Now to the West of all of us I am hearing about snow storms and floods.

be glad you don't live in texas....we've been warm here (today's projected high: NEAR 80! tomorrow: sixties in the morning and then falling temps; and highs in the 40's and low 50's the rest of the week! CRAZY weather!!) could reallllly use some snow and cold right now; living in ohio for 40 years has me spoiled! texas is nice, but the winters SUCK here! LOL (((HUGS))) and much love, your tx. friend, karen lynn (who LOVES the cold and snow!).
