Things are happening that I can’t control
I hate to see the hurt and feel the woe
I just do not have the words to say
To explain or make it all okay
My heart is breaking from all of these things
Eye opening life experiences
But why do they all have to be so cold?
From a sudden death
To the downsides of growing old
For so many now time is flying by
Days on a calendar are like grains of sand
Just washing away in the tide
But for some time stands still
A day remembered forever etched in our minds
An image that haunts some
And memories and time lost for others
Hope and comfort shattered on the ground
The pieces we pick up are dentate and fragile
As we try to make anew something old brought forth from the ashes
Our minds are trying to comprehend
That which even the greatest of minds can’t explain
How a life can end so suddenly
How a mind can lose its power to remember
How those once so close can fall away from one another
Only God can understand these things
Only He can answer our questions
So we write them down
And we walk the floor waiting for His return
But our papers are worthless
He knows our hearts and minds
He snickers at our plans
And he holds us tightly in His arms
Some day everything will make sense
We just need to hold onto our faith
And while I ponder and question
I can feel life slipping through my fingers
Like petals from the prettiest and sacred of flowers
Must my life always be this way?
A worrier and a sensitive being trapped by fear and scared to move on?
I pray not
And I lean into the Lord’s embrace
Hopeful that soon He will guide me to better horizons
And give me something I can call my own
But for now I will do my best
Always being me
And try to use my words to comfort and heal
May from the ashes come a light
And may we be able to survive these challenges
Standing together
Stronger than ever
And better than before

Ah, the other things you brought up, not understanding, was an exercise in heavy duty angst. I'm at the age where I have quit asking. I'm waiting for whatever comes next.
