Power Corrupts

Words are like cream

You can spread them thin.

The are a nice topping

To cover your sins.

 

Never answer a question,

Always twist it anew.

Keep a straigh face,

And you'll fool more than a few.

 

But answers to questions

Must be relentlessly pursued.

Eventually the lier is caught,

When all the layers are exposed.

 

Democracy can't exist

When all trust is gone.

When power corrupts,

It corrupts absolutely.

the background from which... today's reality/power
that corrupts....emerged.

Somethings bound to give. Our constitution is being called "outdated". The people are unhappy. I'm seriously waiting for a revolution.
