The tears that form in my eyes

Are for a loss that can't be replaced.

It is with sorrow they are formed,

And only time will find them erased.

I, but a being of earth,

Conceived in a mothers womb.

Taught to love my neighbor,

Till I be placed in a tomb.

Tears replace the anguish

That death instills in us.

The loss of someone dear,

Is why God died on the cross.
