I played paws with
our sweet little rag doll kitten Rama
swatting my hands affectionately
I wondered about this human life
recollecting that Swami says
it is a rare,
hard earned, unique gift
which we should not take lightly
human life with all its pain,
suffering, alternating joys
and thrills
houses the
quintessence
of Self Awareness
God Consciousness
within our reach
only a cosmic breath away…

it wasn’t long before I saw him
darting by with a helpless lizard
in his jaws
