Gladiolas are indeed, a wonderful flower. I remember my mother having them in the vegetable garden every year for bouquets. When I was in Guatemala for a week and visited many markets. Glads were everywhere in multitudes of colors. Always planted in the rich volcanic soil at the end of rows of corn in various states of maturity ensuring food all year long. The glads sold in the markets to rich people in towns for daily bouquets.
For a war-torn country, I'll never forget all the beautiful birds like macaws and hummingbirds, the peace and quiet with colorful flowers everywhere.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
Thankful for your appreciative comments.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Sending you warm cinnamon scented smiles.
