A carload of teens met an untimely end when thier Acura hit a utility pole and split in half (here in Des Moines, IA)

Carload of teens joyfully speeding,
Fearlessly flying, laughing at fate -
Chattering away, never heeding,
Now stand humbled at heavens' gate.

Car hit a pole going seventy,
Split it right in two --
Tossed bodies all over roadway,
Wondering if they ever knew.

Now grieving peers line the road,
Memorial items dot the ground;
Friends and family share loss's load,
Loved ones no longer around.

Thrill-seekers met an untimely end,
Young lives snuffed out too soon --
Hopefully this will teach thier friends,
Foolish speeding can lead to ruin!
