Angels Waiting
(In memory of my 2 precious babies who left this life, for life eternal)
God gave you life, my little angels
For a moment, you were mine
But He had a bigger purpose
To reveal in His own time
From the moment of conception
In my mind, I saw your face
Your souls and mine connected
Through God's mercy and His grace
God breathed your lives inside me
Into my inner part
You couldn't grow inside my womb
So you grew inside my heart
Sometimes I try to travel
To the past, inside my mind
Seeking answers to the questions
And nothing, do I find
That says why you had to leave me
God knows I loved you so
My arms, they couldn't hold you
So I had to let you go
I cannot help but wonder
As I let the teardrops fall
And I feel your tiny presence
Do you think of me at all
There is no rhyme or reason
I fail to understand
Why God gives and takes away
Is this according to His plan
Maybe He needed special angels
Untouched by sin or shame
Can you tell me, baby angels
Did He give, to you, a name
Were you standing by the Savior
When Granny Mary made it there
Did you give her hugs and kisses
Did she stroke your angel hair
As I wait to see your faces
To you both, I make this vow
When I reach the gates of Heaven
I will find you both, somehow
For now, I'll hold the memory
Of your precious souls, in mind
And remember His sweet promise
"Seek. . . and you shall find"
Maybe when He "took" my babies
To be part of His family
He gave me sweet assurance
Of angels waiting just for me
