Behind a Gardeen Wall


Behind a garden wasall sound was
soft and pleasant.
Heard were the oft
cooing
of doves and small
birds twittering
while settling down for the night.

No spoken word broke the silence until
his whispered voice entered her ear to
reach
a rapidly beating heart

His proposal of marriage
broke the
chain
of days in his bridal pursuit.
For a man deeply in love, he trembled
awaiting
her acceptance

Finally, her quivering lips in
a bright smile whispered, "Oh Yes!"

The two claim that during an
eddless kiss the moment was
celebrated in
songs
of love birds
and happy chatter from
creatures nearby

No one challenges them because
happiness
is always possible behind this
garden's wall.
