Come live with me and be my fool
and I will all your life time rule:
that condominium, house or room
may your simple life entomb.
And I will sit within my chair
while you intent do serve me there;
and you will wash my shorts and sheets,
and keep my shirts so softly neat;
and love me more the more you serve;
and love me just as I deserve.
A bed and final resting place,
beside me you will sleep, my Grace.
Nothing that costs much you will have.
Upon your back, a simple rag.
This marriage vow, it is my gift.
My dear, how I admire your thrift.
And you’ll have kids until you’re old
and diaper them when you are told.
A noisy home life we will share,
but you are dumb so you won’t care.
If these delights may you entrap,
come to me now and we’ll unwrap.
Men of knowledge never say
this to their mates on wedding day.
