The Masterpiece--
Sometimes you know, God’s message will show, but sometimes it’ hard to be seen,---
A thought in your mind, that you can’t seem to find just what that message might mean,---
It was battered and old, adrift with the cold, and swirling in white river foam---
A message God sent, because it was meant, to bring beauty and joy to my home,---
Imagine if you would ,a piece of drift wood, polished with great loving care ---
Rare and breath taking, A work of God’s making, His wonder of nature to share,---
The message I see, is now plain to me, just what God placed in my mind---
The story of my life , the troubles and strife ,are not just one of a kind,---
I take a look back , may be I can track, the life of this piece of a tree,-
The meaning is there, in a beauty so rare, God sent this message for me,---
A heavy limb broke from a tall stalwart oak, to crash to the ground in disarray,--
It’s pretty leaves gone ,once solid and strong now there on the river it lay,---
The long years would pass, but coming at last , another storm washed it away,---
This time it was good, because moving on would, save the big limb from decay,---
The storming cold river is not much of a giver but cleaned this big piece of a tree,---
Dead branches forsaken and the dead bark was taken, the limb’s now a beauty to see,---
But the journey’s not ending, That wild river’s bending, and the worse is still yet ahead ,---
There’s rapids to run and sharp rocks to shun, that’ll splinter the timber to shreds,---
The rapids were missed ,but the currents persist and shattered the big limb to pieces,---
Tattered and torn, broken and worn , but the battering still never ceases,---
And Suddenly a fear as whirlpools appear, to swallow this piece from the rim.---
Buried in gravel, there’ll be no more travel, would this be the grave for the limb?---
All lost it would seem , but a life giving stream freed the branch from that buried obstruction---
But only to see, it once more to be, bourne toward the sea and destruction,---
,
But a change for the best, the wood came to rest, in the safe calming pool that it needed,---
Now then it was true , It’s journey was thru, and the angry ol’river receded;---
There floating so free was this beauty to see in a heavenly scene of great Peace,---
The Father says now, you can understand how, I made this great Masterpiece.---
Epilogue:--
Your Life is like a driftwood thrown in the river of life---
It’s full of Dangerous, currents , rocks and Sholes and strife,---
You must navigate this river , but with His help you’ll find release,---
Then the Father will consider you another Masterpiece.---
