Where are our children?

A child stopped today lost
Spoke of the cruel
His words were potty mouth
Ability to communicate dead
Sad raised its ugly head
Not willing to understand

Officer of life took his gun and knife
Lead him to the spot where all are shot
And there it became clear
He lived only with fear

Silver bullet lay to another page
Why is so that heroes must go
To the land of sleep
Their reward is to view
The random few
Whose land they saved

Child of life sharpening the knife
Works the stone with care
Sees the "dewb" on the scared street
Some God will meet but not here

Lost today in a semblance of play
Child speaks the song of the street
Strong and true they in plain view
Words lay to see the likes of you
Child learns his lot in school
Just which of you are the fools

Child lost, I report, I cry

Excellent and sadly true, I loved this:

Child speaks the song of the street
Strong and true they in plain view
Words lay to see the likes of you
Child learns his lot in school
Just which of you are the fools
