Rope rides the tree

as children sing

laughter fills her eyes

so much so that she cries

red rover sends the new boy

over

It is the spring of life caught easily in her arms

and the smile of youth is everywhere

skinny dippin in the creek

kisses red wine sweet

I know that she will always be there



From under the seat of a Chevy, cherry sweet

comes a bit of the blend that's cherry wine

share all we have and I know her as well as I know me

marriage in the fall life, works the flute and robin call

the moon slipped behind a cloud but not to cry



Twenty years have passed and the world is moving fast

still we are just as young a moon on a summer night

sweeter the cherry wine, as love made
