Watch the day run into night and life it is a dream some still look for life
most find only ashes from which the mansion is built..

Walk me to a palace that sees heaven

Hold me as the tears start to fall

Dance with the angels in the valley in the fall

Skip the long hours of morning

Taste whiskey going down

Sing me back to tomorrow

When on a rope I leave your town

Whites sheets float before me

represent this little town

Cry for the children

when I an’t around

mercy be the father

Shut the door let the whiskey go down

Courage in the spirit

see it burn out on the lawn

Grandma says she hears them coming

must be hundred strong

tally up the curtains

Join in an old hymn song

when the morning come one of us be gone

Sheriff unloads the old shot gun

Federal marshals like an army

looks like we in for some fun

Lord and angels stand beside me

Protectors of my family

This is an eerie part of history for some. It is history although some want to erase it. Great spirit here in your poetry.
Susan
