Take the good where ever you find it cherish it for as long as you can

In the evening as my feet pound the ground

Look to the heavens as the snow gently falls down

It is rough life out here on the edge

Still the love of land helps me make a bridge

Sherry’s now all of two years old

Mommy pictures her in silver and gold

Likes to hold her up for all to see

Me I duck the bullets of used to be

Billy takes the wrinkles from my brow

Sees the best in me some how

Knows full well what I do

Still he forgives me for being away, too

Stage is set almost time for me to go

It is hard to leave the glory of the snow

Linger a moment for the fun soft the prayers

Floating up to the sky let me know them better before I die

My body is warmed by her touch so gentle the fingers

So base and driven is the lust eager to take all she will give

Younger than my oldest is this anyway for me to live

Pleasure that grows makes the answer to the question slow

Fifty with thirty five doesn’t seem so bad, so much more wisdom

In the evening as my feet slide the pavement with a child

Silly is the feeling driving my insides wild, snowballs sail through the air

Thirty-five packs a wallop as we roll down the lawn to the stairs

Stars are given a pass on age; still I must step forward on the stage

Voice is getting rough, lots of action turns the soft to gruff

In the park we swing not really talking about much of anything

Looks into my eyes and I can feel my heart start to sing she wears my ring

Phases play soft in my brain; I have learned to love walking in the rain

Splashing puddles meant for me to jump in my throat she leaves a lump

You are what you are voices singing under new and growing stars

Heaven here on earth plays the theater of the mind I am just trying to keep time
