Children all we understand, culture, religion, love and loss, still burn deep.

Blanket holds stories of my childhood

twisted and placed in order of days importance

Fill the cup to the line

I take my trip again

Pouring in the rain

It is the fog filling the mind on this evening

letting me grasp for the love for old tales

Seldom do we see

You without me

Strange words dance

The gravel of pain

In the truth of words a world spreads before the roads

smiles of the journey never done

Dreams when fences

Where the only barriers

Just a small place to sit

All alone am I in this world

No one my equal or match

Boots to the sand and gravel tasted in the imagination of love

each takes a vision of life and casts its lot

Another piece of America gone

Who will tell all of you his tale

trails of dust and bread leave birds

a mark to follow lost in my books

which of the wood is a sorry sight

gingerbread in need of repair

The rattle of sabers flash silver across a dead sky

covers from road climb high in created fear

Trapped souls leave her cloak

all is thread bare hunger knocks loud

drugs age need to fill the hollow

Kids more evil come each with his want

oven is filled with many witches baked

Sweet bread stales frosting and ginger

Where do they go now used up and abused

Muscle pulls close and comforts the need here

nothing but strength to comfort

So many looking for the candy and ginger

witches just can not keep up the need

Pale light full moon broom and cat escape

witches run the scare assignment to search

as will any child tell you

if the wolf comes to the door

everybody eats including any aging witches

Tads a’r eye of need shadow lost in the book

House of ginger a hungry hope still lives

No angel this night to save the children left hungry

Only words written in reports lost

Why cry now your children rest in your strong security

place of birthright lives in the gift fought for

which father will never return to hold

Obligation screams in my head

does it mater anymore

take and give

a lost

pain
