In the town many years ago livid a lady of the night only one tried to claim her soul
VERSE 1 Old days of life in which they dwell where words did mean a something I tasted and found love in bar room girl and her name was like the minion VERSE 2 I took her love and body well for years She laughed at me through gold to see Like the wind she giggled at me and beg me go Tears were great and the river seemed like my new home VERSE 3 A stranger saw me going down pulled my worthless body from where I was dwelling Dr. pride mixed with hide say we know you If your name be like the minion VERSE 3 It was in the wedding bed I now prepared die as pale as the body wrinkled up never to see the light Single words bounce off the wall in halls of learning I need the love of the woman true like the minion VERSE 5 Remember well the story tell of voices long ago a dreamer made his way to the hill above watched the young girls dancing still looking for truth in the minion VERSE 6 Death and vain accompany me dollars well paid as her body he laid drunk or stoned he had all he could handle Still looking for the likes of minion VERSE 7 Death lost his way on the darken road She vain with pride hid herself singing Every drop of life had a voice screaming Lost of life is sure for we the likes of minion VERSE 8 Silver lines the coffin etched in gold songs praise the times of old grave diggers robbers of the drink and life An' sell the resting place of minion VERSE 9 Washes my hands in a brass bowl wipe with white towels stained *They hung them in the old church tower* *Higher than the sin the town had give them* *Verse 10* *Row and cross denied them and the ghost* *haunts each and every one with blood upon the pillow* Bent and hung low the rape of the willow Madams house burn�t down
