Sad is the heart lost to the memories of what never could be

I cried

love died

long

ago

It was a rough road but I am upright

It is the end of day and I feel your pain

Went away so long ago fool was I

just cried

Bottle keeps the smile front for a time

Bent the pain in my open mind

No one wants to live alone but hearts just grow old

Accepted someone new used and abused

Body a soul left for the check brought to bear

Heart used as a mat critized not good enough

Linger thoughts all of me

bought and sold

Too many dreams left in the sinews of the past

Hands as cold as ice warmed by only memories

Sad it is age takes its toll

been good I guess

Made more roses than thorns

bleed just the same

Best we love in a world

wrong kind found paid in will lost

Exchange love for the closest thing I could find

Made the mark on a world should be proud

Three trees growing one make up for two

Creativity saves lives in a sea of greed

Mind takes all before making a path for others to follow

Pieces of the body grow into the gifts of self and live standing

Youth lost long ago found you in a passing in the night

Heat still warms from a flickering flame eyes melt

To my very soul you touch me and I you

Soul mates dance one last dance and cry in each other’s arms

Story is not done but the will is in the value left on the palette

She cries

I died
