Revised, wrote while listening to an old oil rigger, juke box was playing, Four Strong Winds by Bobby Bear

My heart died in drunk stupor, phone in hand, call the number, but she is in the ground, long past gone, savior of my soul, cold and lonely, hugging her stone, tears hot and burning, please lord, I am so lost, my head is swollen, tongue dry, stager among shadows, just a pass her by
I am stoned.

My hands are all callused and hard, as the sun burns my eyes high,
none of those things ever change, as the day comes inside my mind.
Our good times are all but gone, and I am just for fading on.

Ponies and cowboys lose their path in a boat on a raging sea
Fingers touch your soul in that special way
I am in love with you
you with me

Head in towards the oil fields in the  fall.
Run those rigs higher than dry before.
Still I wish I could a piece of you find one more time
just a cool wind blowing across a warm sea. Holds me like a bottle tight

I push the pedal from memory keeping time it feels so good.
Its cold heart in Alaska that keeps me running fare, eyes of diamond golden hair drops of black gold in my hair skin darker than you do; and those winds sure do blow cold way up there wish some how

I could still be with you

Trouble on a shore leave in waters warm
Cast rebel sounds in the valley of her arms
Nobody is ever home as the rigs move around

Its color fades and dreams that few will believe

My hands are callused and hard, as the sun burns  high,
none of those things ever change, as the day comes  yes it stays.

We are good times gone,
ache and creaking bones just
move too
what ever we had
has been long gone
bottles drunk
soldiers dead

Fingers dance upon the keys
I see her in  night wind
singing there.

She holds me in
a failing hurricane,
we are stars
in the air,
as a juke box plays,
wind parts
her graying hair
