Old Love

Wheels burn a path to he unknown blessed

We hold on fire line it’s alone

Pretence as wells seeking life

I feel her words cut like a knife

Sidewalk pulls me forward to be

Fate as sad as it is over revives love

End parts a message in prime evil heat

Our bridges burn in passion shared

Pillow warm with your smell of joy

As rain plays its song on our life

Hair dips to the seat left as body takes

Fingers seek closure in heat response

Tender our whimpers against time left

All mingle with universe ranging for place

Wheels burn a path to he unknown blessed

We hold on fire line it’s alone

Bar room singer takes minds and bends them into lace

She holds me against the pain of memories left on a bed post gone

Fair maiden come dance with me one more time

Across darkness and danger well worn retread

So soft her body melting into mine we are one in the same

Faces and graces pull into hues of hope again as we fall

Come lay with me as familiar becomes a path of new in dark

Heart skips past desire a fire ignites again in souls long time dry

Need and want drip well past one night in yesterday played

Final alone as the day breaks into realities of life move along

Wheels burn a path to he unknown blessed

We hold on fire line it’s alone

Bridges come too near a path-destroyed weakness kept in embers

Your fingers wipe away tears in morning turning golden to sky

Wrapped in the shadows of your eyes so perfect we live in trying

Ribbons reached as loving comes a witness consumed upon last prayer

No answers to beginning only ends come as the door closes in her image

Passing of reflections falter in smell of her love left on me fading fast

Frozen in losing joy so perfect inside on my shadows left on a wall moved forward

Wasted again empty the bottle take the steps forward to survival one more day

Scattered by the shades of fate, close a life, open a dream, and reach for better

Accept hunger in the soul passing on more than I had before
