wonder on dawn

Out on the corner thumping a bible in time

We shared the last of the wine

Drifters in believing

Taking only

Wisdom

Defined

From anger coming a night wind blows past

Ripple of dreamers

Which will dream their last

Ah but I wonder

For wondering is what

I do

Comfort in seeing

Travel an ocean blue

When will the kill

Kill you

Eyes turned toward

A dying sun

Saw me a red bird

As dove to see

A flower that you held

Stopped the wind

To blow

Over the currents I follow

Into the wonder of sight

Ships pass in final flight

Lady in harbor

Slits another way

Can’t recall her name

She carries my child the same

Ribbons of halo

Under a storm dark sky

Last of the sparrow

On my window

She cries

Pennies a perfect lie

Over the eyes of never

Which is the way to go

Shepard of another time

Walks the pathway

Drinks the last of my wine

Into the shadows I follow

Seeking retribution

Ripple of dreamers

Which will dream their last

I have stood in the valley of death

Passed the mountain

Taken its last request

Near a shadow do I know?

Only the soft of voices

Crying as I go

Rent you a day dream

Dream you a nightmare

Its true

Last of the bottle

Is what is left in you

Out on the corner thumping a bible in time

We shared the last of the wine

Drifters in believing

Taking only

Wisdom

Defined
