Bed Time On A Stormy Night

Childhood fears make for wonderful memories
When the call of death echos Each door closed tight Fear engulfs us in the dreary night Shadows of demons Play games inside our minds That is the feeling for each Child at bed time Hear the steps their crying Each creek a monsters sound Every curtain around our neck is bound The pounding of our hearts Leave fear a open door Mom and dad are both at the store Lightening striking cross the sky Thunder so loud it makes the trees cry Under the covers we hide Sister is laughing, I don’t care about pride Brother Bill enters, a mountain of a man "What going on in here?" Wrap my arms around him, shuddering in fear No laughter, just a gentle pat A warm smile underneath a big brim hat I am safe

very vivid imagery came to mind when i read this

but in the next to last stanza, you may have meant "shuddering" instead of "shuttering" (at least, i think you did)
