Daddy's Little Girl
Once upon a time a long
time ago,
into this world came a
little girl,
her name was Kathy
and her eyes were blue,
right when he saw her
from that moment he knew,
She was her daddy's little girl
his reason for living
his whole wide world
it's a love that is timeless
leaves his heart in a whirl
now and forever
she's her daddy's little girl.
Before he knew it she said
"Dad look at me",
she was standing there smiling at him
high in a tree,
he looked to the sky
and he looked to the ground,
then hurried right over to help
his little girl down.
Cause she's her daddy's little girl
his reason for living his whole
wide world,
it's a love that is timeless
leaves his heart in a whirl,
now and forever she's her daddy's little girl.
In front of the candles that glimmer
and glow,
sixteen were standing where
did all the years go,
wrapped up in paper and tied
with a bow
he showed her he loved her with
a new fishing pole.
Her friends kinda chuckled
cause they thought it was strange,
as she stood on that threshold
his little girl changed.
Now the years have gone passed them
she's married and grown
has a house in the country
with kids of her own.
Still sometimes she wishes
and sometimes she prays
for the chance to go back to those days
when she was her daddy's little girl.
