I'm Only Five
I was walking home from school
one day,
and a great big puddle was
in my way.
I thought for a moment just what
should I do,
do I leap across or
splash right through?
Decisions decisions so
hard to decide,
was the puddle as
deep as it was wide?
I took a deep breath
and stepped back a block,
untied my shoes and
took off my socks.
I wanted to be ready
case heaven forbid,
I land in the middle
cause my legs aren't that big.
On your mark get set on
the count of three,
I'll jump like a bunny
and holler whoopie!
I kinda miss judged
the puddles size
what the heck I'm
only five.
