I wrote this poem one night when I was in bed, just finished watching a tv documentary on kids that were homeless over in third world countries, my contribute to them
On a cold wild night when no one's their
Children around in sight screaming help me" I'm over here"
Looks of sadness and pity being abandoned on the streets
Were not to blame but our city is watching
Wearily standing waiting for something to eat.
Heartbeats pulsate quick, salty sweat drips down
Vicious gangs eyes watching teach the tricks
Fight for survival in this bad ass town.
Guns, drugs and overdoses our way of wrongful life
We get the high, down the low's, expire through the nights.
Steal to survive, shoot who we can
Open our eyes to see the man,
Gun looking back at me, loaded bullets to shoot
Begging forgiveness and plea
Need your wallet now and all your loot.
Woeful tears continue to fall
Bodies shivering through dirty trash
Under dark bridges and hijack malls
Only way to fix the problem is real hard cash.
Forceful authority’s attempt to arrest
Nothing to do but run,
Back to their family, tortured with incest,
No real life, their days are done.
Government and unjust laws treat us this way ignoring the way we live
Ignoring our right of words we want to say, for this they expect us to forgive
Streams of light majestically disappear scared children scamper around
Eerie frightening dark atmosphere no lights on in this ghost town.
