The "eye of the storm" gives full meaning to this exploration in 3rd person (3rd person allows for much more identity for your readers and avoids giving the impression of victimization). The stream of individual experiences/images builds for full understanding by the reader of such a person. Few who suffer such rejection because they are particular with their choices ever realize the victory that is there for the realizing... such as your protagonist does here. Well done.
