TOUCH THE RAINBOW

TOUCH THE RAINBOW

I take the winding path shaded in red

instead of hiding in my comfy bed.

The road widens and narrows its scope

as it weaves away from any hope.

Blood red threatens the night sky

as laughter follows me high.

Rivers of crimson red coat my tired feet

as I walk the road of shame and defeat.

Why cannot life take the high road?

I ask if I may be so bold.

Ahead I see a bright light

as I rise with all my might.

I run toward the rainbow in my mind

in the colors and hues, I hope to find.

roads not taken, roads taken too far,
life is a journey whether by foot or by car

We all seek a kaleidoscope of colors that color our lives. But in the image presented, I see a beautiful Photoshop of a boardwalk over a marshy area that not only allows us to take the "high road," but allows us to actually get out in the marshy area without getting our feet wet to observe all the critters that do love living in the shelter of these green plant and blue water places. By coloring the whole thing in blood red, the image conjured up the poem of dread that you have written here.

Yes, be bold, reach out and touch the rainbow. Lovely.

"Why cannot life take the high road? / I ask if I may be so bold."

My feeling on that is simple to a fault. If everything is so easy in our lives, we have nothing to strive for. It is merely given to us. No feeling of Doing something good for yourself and your fellowman.

This was very nice, Susanne! At least you were able to see a bright light ahead and you wanted to touch that rainbow in your mind. Something good ahead of you, perhaps?

Omega Factor by John Henning

Take some time to walk outside of your own mind and into another, walk slowly and carefully; the mind that you step on might be your own.
