Our great native Americans
Who lived upon this wide great land
To them the white man owes so much

The very land on which we stand
Belonged at once to the red man.
The Indians and the cowboys
No. The wars brought but tears not joy.
Have we become too blind to see.
The reason we are truly free.
The great and wondrous sacrifice
Of those who didn't stop think twice.
Indians aborigines.
On this land . The land of the free
I often think about them to, and how they honored the land and its animal populations the way that my ancestors, Europeans, didn't. Most of those with native blood that I know, don't mind the term, Indian. But they do mind what we are doing to our natural world.
