2 Shakespearean Sonnets

Life and death

Two of the greatest mysteries of man
Many a great mind pondered oer the years
yet still we fail to see and understand
and some have wondered to the point of tears
as time drags on ever so slowly by
the mysteries they seem become deeper.
Where is the truth? And who is telling lies?
the mountain for to climb becomes steeper.
‘Some sadly drive themselves mad pondering this.
‘this elusive and this grand mystery.
‘the joys of life they pass by and do miss.
a sad fact across all of history.
‘some give their all until their dying breath

to find the mysteries of life and death

The Singing Jailbird
The Sherriff jailed him the pick pocket thief
And every day the sheriff brought him food
The town choir lost their tenor. O the grief.
‘and the young jailbird he was somewhat rude.
‘the towns search for a tenor came up nil.
but then the sheriff heard the jailbird sing.
o what a perfect voice ‘‘twas none too shrill
enough to make the mountainside to ring.
‘they went to contest. Barbershop quartet
the jailbird disappeared for just a bit.
‘but he came back, and folks did not forget
the jailbird singing. He just wouldn’t quit.
the jailbirds quartet won the contest quick.
and kept the trophy come thin or come thick
