I'm in awe of the mime artist:
his face, his hands,
his luxuriant body movements -
portraying the life
of inner and outer worlds
with richness, colour
and imagination.
All without words.
I'd inhabit his breath,
his strength and vigour
if only I could...
But alas! I am only
a square little microchip,
and know that mine instead
is the world of telling:
Limited and ordered
information
programmed in a
read and retrievable
kind of way;
uncomplicated,
simple and straightforward,
lacking mystery and wonder,
saying it like it is.
An undemonstrative conveyor
of thought and emotion.
But I'd like to be that
particle of knowledge
that gives HIM his vital spark;
the understanding that puts
the light in his eyes,
and the love to warm his heart.
I'd like to be his energy
and every last complexity
that animates his life.
Stunning achievement--you conveyed the mime's message with power and conviction, through the silence, your words echo in the reader's heart and linger in the mind--spot on!
Very Fine, Kate! I have trouble articulating what I feel, and wish I would have followed my desire to be a dancer, articulating emotion through movement, just like the mime. It's so hard sometimes to be understood...
A very intriging (spelled wrong I am sure) poem, Kate. Thought about rewritting a couple of my older works here...I look at them and cringe. This, however, is exceptional poetry. Well done.
you have done precisely that, animating his life, in this exceptional poem and showing us the delicate nature of your own inner motions ...

Hmmm... this is writing that lingers, that, when called to mind, brings the author along with the words, for it's never been said quite like that... BUT... having said that: tsk tsk, KaTe, dear heart, this reads as though you are minimalizing yourself to the size of a pea! Oh, the poetry, the writing is music, oh yes. I don't often do this, but I quite rather agree with LadyA... he is the "yin"... and you, oh poetic one, are now and forever, the one and only, marvelous Yang-Kate! Remove the DIS from the word 'connect'... I love who you are! (smile) katy xox
Hmmmm Maybe you are a part of him, in your admiration, there is a joining,
like if no one appreicated the flower in bloom, or the music played, it would be like yin without the yang
Kate, you are about the furtest thing from a micro chip that I have ever seen. Only you and your wonderfully sharp sense of imagination could paint us such perfect word pictures as the one above. I think the mime could easily draw on your talent and imagination to create the perfect show. Great write.

And then, again, Kate...maybe not. I knew a couple of mimes on a
personal level when I was in show biz. Their lives were utter tragedies. One of them committed suicide, sorry to say. Perhaps it is better to 'let it all hang out' as we poets do...instead of bottling the pain. Eh?
This was an excellent write though...and so typical of your produce.
And now, after saying all that, you'll probably write me to report
I got the message of the poem all wrong...
Awesome! You want to be his everything, and that is just fantastic,Kate!;-) This is another of your psychological
masterpieces! No one does them like you!
“Being a couple yet free is our next challenge on the evolutionary ladder. This book successfully helps us unravel the myths that block that achievement. It does it with warmth, with readability, and with balance. It recreates everyday problems and
