Movie-time in the Burnside Camp. I love quirky relationships; they bring out so many hidden human dynamics. So, trusting that a big, black beautiful beastie isn't going to show up to spoil the party, I wish you all the happiest of New Year celebrations and the gracious blessings of peace and joy in the days ahead, transforming any pain and transcending all the pleasure. Life is more about what is going on on the inside, I think, than the outside to a certain extent. I thank each and every one of you for your fellowship here and for your wonderful appreciation. Most of all, I am personally blessed by your gifts of writing and personhood. Keep writing it as it is and our shared journey into 2008 will certainly keep us on an upward and pleasant path. And may there be music and dancing! :)) Love, Kate xx

THE KING AND I

You stole me away and I fell –
tumbled backwards, forwards;
flick-flacked, somersaulted;
did walkovers front to back.

But, impervious to my acts of flight,
you remained distant, silent,
until, coming closer,
you breathed on me and I flew;

suddenly I was
your fluttering diamond
sailing high above ground.

Holding tight to my tail ribbons
at last you smiled,
your prodigious weight
never having been lifted before.

I love the almost magical cast you have lent to this lovely write..images of Peter Pan and Wendy, nymphets in the woods, fairies and toad stools and all the other nursery rhyme characters and scenarios dancing just for I. Thank you dear sweet Kate I loved it. Hope you and your family continue to thrive in all your pursuits in 2008 and I will be there on the sidelines cheering you on in your literary endeavors

Your words just carried me away, Kate, as I imagined the moment where one first realizes what it means to be truly touched by another. Like sugared wine, it makes us dizzy and we know that we will never again be the same. You have such a wonderful way with your pen, Kate, you always lift me to a higher plane. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
Take care,
Sherry

n.everland indeed. .. i think i may be a wee jealous of your voice with metaphors...tying ribbons to every small thing making every small seem magnificent, a farflung and reaching emotion of air and light and feeling..breahy and brusque. .i bet you are an amazing woman to conspire by the fireside with :}
this was so soft...and subtly soaring. .i didnt even notice how high i was until a minute or so after.
toasties to you on this bright eve~

Sure fire words to animate one's own visual. The King and I was a classic and I chose to reflect on this movie. Yul Brynner was an awesome,one of a kind man, who stayed as a visual long after Fini was over. Hollywood just can't turn them out like that anymore, except, of course, Tom Selleck.

Susan
