It certainly is amazing how people so easily honor the flag of even the most corrupt leaders the world has known. The rise of nationalism, affecting all nations, is so strong that even the Olympics are deeply politicized. Where it is not about individual hardship, training and accomplishment, but pitting country against country like in war. Glorious war fought by the likes of the foot soldier ground into the ground like collateral damage.

Your poem from 2013 illustrates how insincere political leaders really are.
