Night falls on the desert landscape
Mind drifts north past the sages
Turning I scan the Yukon, move on
Fires are burning on sacred lands
Lost tribes come forth from there
My spirit flies forth into night light
Yes Alaska is beckoning me home
Her cries touching skin, chills form
Heart upon heart nothing is like her
Beauty that God made stands calling
I hurt beyond belief with wanting
I just want to stand on her mountains
Ravens swoop by me in an awesome hush
I smile happily at their greeting sound
Please feet just once to land upon her
The soft moss touching my feet again
Every night my journey begins once more
As my soul takes flight back home, grizzlies
Roar eyes scan the smoldering fires below
Water clouds please come, don’t let fires purge
Alaska my very spirit flies home to your beauty
Each night I pray I land upon your soil’s touch
Here and only here can I truly feel at peace?
God’s creation blending in harmony calling
