Across the valley just past the hill
There sits a little cabin, with rooms to fill
Too long sat empty no laughter within
Its time to move somebody in
Greenhouse out back needs loving care
Perhaps a plant or two in there
Snow piles high upon its paths
Someone to remove this mess at last
Wood floors need the touch of moving feet
To finally make this house complete
Fireplace needs to feel some warmth
Windows ache for more d馗or
A wreath of roses on its front door
So across the valley just past the hill
Where the little cabin sits with rooms to fill
I値l fill its walls with love and care
Putting plants in the greenhouse here and there
I値l hang a wreath on its front door
I値l take good care of its wood floors
I値l shovel off its paths of stone
I値l make this little cabin into my new home
Another marvelous photo, Theresa, and quite a captivating poem. As I frequently drive rural backroads, I often spot abandoned and neglected cabins, and I often look at them wondering who built them, who lived in them, and why they left them.
Mystical and magical like the writer this home seems perfect for you Theresa, and I can picture this poem in a needlepoint sampler above the fireplace.

I just love this offering from you. Such a pleasant and endearing set of verses. I was quite taken, believe it. The photo was breathtaking and I NEVER compliment poem photos because I feel that poetry should stand alone without all the frippery. But this photo is different. Haunting. Edgar Allen Poeish.
