The best smiles are those that happen spontaneously, without reason or explanation.

Poem Artwork

I saw your smile
and knew you were a friend.
And, I smiled,
knowing you were a fellow traveler
from somewhere far.
A distant star?

We were meeting by chance
or, was it by design?
Something planned,
a friend in a strange land,
not so strange
anymore.

Knowledge is like that… Like your poem. Once we meet someone strange and began to know him/her better, we find that we have more in common than we thought.

I recall meeting my host in Karachi Pakistan for my four-day stay in 1978. He and I hit it off immediately as though he was as close as my twin brother. We had the same tastes in almost everything. We enjoyed each other's company for four days. When he called me while visiting the States about 15 years later, we resumed our conversation as though the years had not intervened where we left off.

Strange, as I have had the same experience…
Some things are just meant to be…
Synchronicity in action…!

I believe people come into our lives for a reason, however long they're with us.
