Always somehow, in the simple "goodnights,"
a trail of wishes, kisses to your doorway,
rooms where the light remains aglow
with windows and future open
to possibilities
No nets to trap, no cages to imprison,
an invitation to fly inside and be free,
wrapped tightly in the blanket
of peace and togetherness
dreams of tomorrow
Though time ticks away between here and there,
each sand through hourglass, one grain closer
to walks in parks, hands in hands, as one
where clocks will stop, heartbeats
to mark moments
Always somehow, there is always "for now,"
the promise of more pieces to be shared,
and of longing to touch the lips
that hold the words
"I love you."
Till then, there is now, simple "goodnights,"
trails of wishes that sleep in a dream,
and a kiss on the wind that longs
to be real, a butterfly yearning
to land.
