Forever Autumn in this place,
That feels the pain within these walls,
Who cries for freedom and the love?
Forever autumn!
The walls that hold this soul within.
The cries and fears of wanting out,
The rays of sunlight sometimes glimmers
Brings nuances, of eternal summers.
Orange hues of coloured walls,
Painted pictures down the halls,
Haunting shadows, which laid forgotten
Now light the corners of this room.
Draw the curtains, close the door,
Keep her helpless within these walls,
Cry the tears of neglected moments,
Dwell on happiness, which was before.
Confused with love and brutal passion,
She walked the winding stairway spiral,
Stopping often to view the scenes,
Tempting now to recapture seasons.
Still on and on she floated,
Before the window of this room,
Far too risky to take the step,
To open up, and let sunshine in.
Could it be the comfort zone?
Could it be she’s still alone?
Sitting huddled by the fire –
Autumn with her hint of coolness,
Tempts you now with her desire
Urges you closer, to hues of autumn.
Seasons floated all the same,
Missing spring and summer rain
Outside then the winter lay,
But that to soon, went away.
Autumn paints these walls,
The room wherein her comfort lies,
For now this is where she’ll stay
Keeping vigil, as the seasons fly.
