I Would ....

  I Would….

I would be your loving lady
should you want me to
you my knight in shinning amour
take me, let me be with you.

I would walk with you my love
hold your heart in mine
treat it oh so gently
and never let you down.

I would wipe away your hurts
envelope you within my loving arms
kiss away all your fears
and keep you away from harm.

I would show you love filled meadows
where we could lose ourselves
Run like carefree spirits
with wonder in our hearts.

I would show you nights of passion
fulfill your hearts desires
moments of elation
perpetual ring of fire.

I would be your everything
from now until eternity
I would be …..
except, you don’t  want me!

Always the same story - it was that way ages ago and it still is.
The stupid knights have survived. What a pity.

Lovely poem, Elga. In retrospect, the ending is as is required by an odd sense of balance.
