Moment in Time~*~

During the courses of our lives there always seems to come a "Moment in Time" and there are always fears and apprehensions as to whether one would be making a wise or right decision in taking up that moment. Does one take the chance to experience true happiness or remain where it may seem comfortable. It is a difficult decision !! or is it ?

 Moment in Time

Is there a moment in time
when you think you may have met
that very special someone
that makes you happy and forget.

Could this be something real
or just a clouded fantasy
moment in obscurity
opaque, deceiving imagery!

Is the passion honest and pure
or just some curious tendency
do you really feel desire
or just contemplating to conspire

Do you take the chance you're handed
to see where it may flow
will it take you to hell and back
or to starlights heavenly glow?

Does the fire burn so strong
within a truthful heart?
or is it just a fancy line,
to see what she'll impart !

Hang on a moment... isn't that Arwen and Aragorn again?! I've come across them somewhere recently I am sure... and in just such a similar connection - but then, why not?! They typify the mystical, magical, marvellous questions you ask here which are true across the board for all man and womankind - elf or human!! - and are perennial through time and space... and oh the agonies and ecstasies of plumbing their depths and questing their truths! Ah me! What a bittersweet fruit is the satiating flesh of passion ... By the way, loved this Elga! You speak for all embryonic love everywhere! Mwahs, Kate xx

That is indeed a difficult question. And the older you get, the more you tend to stay with what you have, fearing the changes, fearing to get disappointed once again.
Question is: What will we regret more, when we are old? That we did it or that we didn't do it?
Excellent.

Follow thy heart, Elga. Eventually those who learn to listen well, have fewer trips to hell! Very much enjoyed this resonate verse. As usual, very skillfully penned.

Dearest Elga,

As a personal friend I have a little insight and although as a poet I would love to say 'follow your heart', the pragmatist in me says: 'Dip your toe in the water but don't dive in just yet.' I have the heart of a poet (as do you) and as a result am hopelessly romantic but experience has shown me that things are rarely as good as our hearts conceive. Don't lose your romanticism but also don't lose your head.

The poem is fabulous of course and as always you have taken such care with presentation. One of the things that I have always said to you when you've shared your poetry with me (privately, off AD), is that you have a flair for creating an impactful and memorable conclusion. The beginning of a poem should always draw us in (as should the promise of love), the body should captivate our imaginations (hmmm nuff said) and the conclusion should be impactful enough to stay with us. Your work meets all requirements.

I have watched your growth over this past year with admiration and pride. I don't comment enough on your poetry on AD because...hey I can just pick up the phone and tell you. Seems kinda silly to say it here too. I chose to do it this time because I have a feeling you're a little ummmm...distracted. ;-)

With love
Chanti

Lifes traffic lights, only by ones own intuition can one tell if the light is red, amber, or green...

Great poem, the last stanza is top drawer.

Or to be or not to be, as Hamlet said.......

Elga, this is an exceptionally well-written poetic piece of thought-provoking poetry with so many unanswered questions, which cannot be ignored. As one continually searches through the Heavens and their heart for those golden answers that one must face in their lifetime, one must realize that if one has the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and aspirations and hopefully live out their remaining life in happiness, before they are called to the next gateway, need to take the chance and reach out, no matter what. Thank you for sharing your remarkable talent my friend.

Life is full of chances, and criss-crossed with numerous paths. One should always follow the heart.
