 Feel the hurt

Black caped velvet nights
through recesses it tiptoes,
stealing stealthily through your mind,
shadowed footsteps it chose.

Furtive and gliding silently,
slow motion and unobserved,
reaching into the depths,
where it knows you'll feel the hurt.

Running fingers of emotion,
touching a soft and gentle heart,
eager to envelop it,
in darkness from the start.

Sparing no forgotten tricks,
tantalising your very soul,
moving in and out of shadows,
It's got your full control !

Elga, this is an exceptionally powerful emotive piece of timeless poetry! It seems far too often nasty creatures of the night lurk deep within the shadows, and pounce unmercifully on their unsuspecting prey without any warning, nor with any regards to the unnecessary damage they cause! May the gentle winds of the Creator’s grace guard and protect you and yours throughout your journey through time and space. Outstanding composition, my friend! Take care and be well.

Boy this is the truth. Some of my dreams go forever with no faces but shadows. I often wondered what it was all about until this last year and that's a new story. beautiful poetry!
