Memory

I have been here before.
But when or how I cannot tell:
I know the grass beyond the door,
The sweet keen smell,
The sighing sound, the lights around the shore.

Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828–1882)

Nirvana

Flickering candle light
emotions
the quietude of the morning hour
moments
silence
all but for the chirping
of the early risers
tranquility
the hour of the awoken soul
traversing across the time
feeling
like on astral planes
lost a million miles away, in
thought
a process, of the mind's device
seeing
beyond the natural realm
touching
the untapped, the new
deep within the recesses,
of this fragmented consciousness
a state
of substantial reality
awakening
the morning light,
Nirvana!

emotions within moments of
silence and tranquility
feelings of thoughts
seeing and touching,
a state,
awakening,

Nirvana!

Elga, it is always such a pleasure dropping by your dynamic Den my friend, for I find myself drifting into a state of absolute bliss as tranquility washes over me. You and your magnificent poetry has such a dramatic effect upon the very foundation of my soul that I find it sometimes virtually impossible to leave once I am here. This stunning composition reaffirms those sentiments exactly, Poet. Thank you for sharing your timeless talent and I welcome your friendship with open arms. May the gentle winds of the Creator’s grace, comfort and keep you and yours safe throughout your journey through time and space. Take care.

Totally beautiful in both concept and execution - words and visual highly complementary! You have summed up for me my conscious plane of existence and I am at a loss as to how I really am able to achieve anything practical in life at all... my mind is certainly always where you are in this poem and my whole world-view is coloured with this kind of perspective. Particularly liked the lines: "the hour of the awoken soul traversing across the time". Spiritual awakening is a wonderful thing and transcends life and time as we know it. Thank you for this gem. Yes... I also believe that Nirvana is a state, a multifaceted one, in which we can find ourselves at the most unexpected times. This is a delicate, beautiful poem, Elga, a pleasure to read.
