 Silent Lonely Place

Hurt and disillusioned
one more blow to bear.
Feeling like a doormat,
so much pain
through very fibre
every sinew, every
slip of memory within my being.
Rejection is the hardest part,
when I didn't start the trail.
Made to feel like
a worthless human being
I hurt !
writhing in my racked up body,
but I dont say a word
I'm  tearing up inside,
my  inside self,
feelings so difficult,
no words  I can expell.

I'm  getting close
so very close to that silent lonely place,
looking straight ahead of me
I see nothing but empty space.
Deepseated pain is all I have
everyone wants a piece of me,
I have nothing left to give!
so leaving now, would
seem the rightful thing to do.

My fears they hold me back,
but I just hurt inside,
crying all those silent tears,
ones I don't have to hide,
for inward they flow
drown me up
and choke my very being
killing me every second
I breathe, a gentle breath.
Interest is lost in all I had,
I care for nothing more,
even talking,
sometimes leads to pain
hurt and so much more.

This is now the moment,
I'd gladly walk, through
that Golden Gate.

Can relate.
You again seem to speak out of my heart.
Time will heal, and a new love will.
I will pray for your strength to go on and find your light.

Painful but so powerful and full of emotions. The beauty of this poem is that it expresses so well how most of us have felt at some point in our life. Your words reach out and touch hearts that hurt in exactly this manner. I look forward to the day you can write another one, telling us the beauty of how a new love can change the way we feel inside and out!

Elga, so sorry this is based in truth for you. A powerful, emotional poem. There is light here for you and those who would not devalue who you are. Blessings and peace, Dawn

Elga, this is an exceptional painful poem beautifully written.
I have always said indifference and ignoring someone is
sometines more abusive than any other. In fact I once wrote
that it was like being shunned without a reason, very disturbing
and hard to deal with.YOu have to reach deep inside and find your
strength and self awareness of your worth. then boldly toot your own horn don't let anyone demean you...(((hugs))) love Eileen

"Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it."

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved."
Helen Keller

A very gripping write, whenever I'm feeling down, I read some Helen Keller's quotes and it picks me right up. I like the way she doesn't sugarcoat anything.

Elga, your poem bears the weight of your heart. There are many lonely places waitng to conquer us. Just keep writing your wonderful poetry and keep thinking happy thoughts. Failing all that, go out and buy yourself something really expensive. I guarantee you will feel so much better...excellent depth in this poem dear poet...Fletcher B

Elga, an exceptionally well composed heart-wrenching write my friend. It’s a shame too many people are hurt in this world, but especially when I see someone I care for, my heart just breaks. You are NOT worthless! Priceless YES! The sun shall shine again my friend. Take care and be well.

A hurting and painful write Elga...that is both gut wrenching and stomach churning....
When we are down...we must remind ourselves of our worth and value...no one else will...and bounce back renewed and full of zest and vigour...
Our future happiness depends on our resilence to endure the hard times..until deliverance comes...in whatever shape or form...

if that golden gate is a symbol of strength where you can be renewed.....by all means go for it......if its symbolic.....if its a place of doom....take a right turn and don't look back.....make a pledge to yourself to be strong.....do it....mark the days on your calender that you don't cry......give yourself a star sticker or something...draw a little picture or something......I've been down....everyone has......everyone has been victimized and hurt.....and has felt utterly bewildered and torn.....but things can change........the end of one thing......marks the beginning of another.......now if i am reading too much into this poem, i do apolgize and will jump off this soap box
