Spices and Satin
Closing my eyes as I gaze into a mirror
Reflecting a sultry enigmatic look
Temptation leads me down the corridors of my mind
Where vital thoughts are apprehended
By the warmth of their own creation
Should my sensuality be delineated?
As the inner child conveys the fears
Preventing me from releasing
The deepest desires and the most passionate dreams
Or should I embark upon my own vessel
Returning with a cargo of spices and satin
Or just let it remain in the harbor undocked?
Perhaps I step out onto the platform before you
And reveal the magnitude of the beauty abounding
My precious freight
And gaze into our reflection
Rippling on the waves of the sea
Mesmerized by the slow motion of sails
Seeking a way back home
To the port of hopeful hearts
And marvel as a canister of untold riches
Tumbles through a glossy curtain of billowing silk
White with hints of mother-of-pearl
Blowing Saffron hues to the rising dawn

A fabulous collaboration Elga & Jude! It puts me so in the mind of another time and place---the days of Columbus sailing in with the spices and the finest silk material!
