We move in one direction
End up somewhere else

Gathering lessons learnt
We correct our course
And, start again

Knowing the pitfalls of certain tracks
We attempt to avoid, not contemplate
Having learnt those lessons
Deeply hoping they won’t relocate

But they do,
they reappear in different forms
again and again along our life given tracks
never leaving, always sneaking
until we become our great lessons learnt

Purified by wisdom’s beauty
to share with fellow human beings
who care to learn from other people’s mistakes
rarely needing to leave one’s path
to gather lessons old and out-of-date.

Can't add to Sage's sage morsels or Felix' findings, except to say uh-huh, yes, that sounds too familiar, lol! Oh but thats the guts of life. The struggle sometimes has more worth than the destination. In this we learn the best lessons and come to know ourselves. Can be painful tho. Great write, Suz...Lin

Suzie,

This is where wisdom all began. Experience is always the best teacher if the listener has an open mind. Very well written, my friend.

Ahhhh Suzie for a young lady you have a great grasp on the reality of life. We do sometimes have to repeat the same mistake many times before the lesson is learned and all too often we tend to ignore the help and advice of wiser people who have learned those lessons.

All we can do is offer a positive thought. It is up to those to act accordingly and think positively. I think this poetry says something about tracks left on the trail. Pouring plaster of paris in these tracks and making a cast from the quick-setting paste of what animal has trodded here lets us track those tracks and life's lessons are reanimated in old bones to discover that life still lingers in them, "But they do, they reappear in different forms
again and again along our life given tracks
never leaving, always sneaking
until we become our great lessons learnt."
