Thanks to all who were so kind as to offer their birthday wishes !!!

The following is a true story written in haste....

I spoke with Jesus today
Yeah, Jesus, in the flesh
He recommended a wine
I had never tasted, and
even though it hadn’t
been magically transformed from water,
I still took him at his word
and made the selection
Jesus and I talked a bit
shared a few laughs
about David… Blaine that is,
and commented on
the “It” factor possessed by
a few ladies who graced the
covers of the magazines
on the news-rack
At that point an older guy appeared
A visibly embarrassed Jesus quickly stuffed
a magazine back into the rack and
re-directed our conversation
He introduced the gentleman as his father
who was visiting from a place
very far away from here
I shook his hand,
welcomed him to California
and wished him a safe journey back
Jesus handed me a pack of smokes,
(He knows my brand), bagged my wine
and rang me up
While I was paying,
Jesus’ father remarked on
the high rate of taxation here
Jesus replied
“Give to Caesar what is Caesars”
His father rolled his eyes,
shook his head and
gave me a knowing wink
We both broke into laughter as
Jesus gave me my change
I left the liquor store
fired up the Jag and cruised
topless through the hills
inhaling the sweet fragrances
of jasmine, eucalyptus, lavender and wild
rosemary....mary...Mary...
could that be his mothers name?
I smiled to myself and thought
"only in L.A."

Yup, only in LA! At first I thought this was a little irreverent but it is a true story and you do have conversations with Jesus. I've had chats with Jesus too but down at the market. I haven't met his father and I hope I don't any time soon. ;-)

I love it, though I have never been to the west coast, it sounds about right from what I have read...as for Jesus and his dad, you ought to invite them to a party, they seem to be quite fun...Ed
