The Angel and The Demon Challenge Love

In the silence of the night when darkness closes in

He feels the satin, smooth to touch, of her supple skin

It sends a shock of lost desire that he thought he’d lost

Demons scream, posses her now, forget about the cost

His body radiates a heat, that melts all her thought away

This must be love she thinks, she’ll pay what she must pay 

The demon smiles as flesh meets flesh, sin has won again

The demon laughs and dances on, knowing next comes pain

An angel cries, and a husband lies and walks his road but still

The angel knows, that the lies he’s told, will send him soon to hell

The lover lies in her lonely bed and knows that’s she’s done wrong

She only wanted to be loved, but she mistook his lust so strong

Now she knows the demon danced and he laughs at her in the gloom

As an angel cries, she wipes her eyes, and dreams her dreams of doom

The morning light unlike the night, the mirror tells the truth once more

The love she craved became depraved when he left her like a whore.

In a grocery store, on a busy day, with a little child in tow

A man looks over, a look while sober, like one she didn’t know

Coffee and cake, revealed mistakes, and someone who’s true of heart

Love is born, no longer forlorn, cupids offered a new start

An angel smiles, good over bad, two hearts meant to be one

The demon sighs, in anger cries, oh angel  you have won.
