There is always something about saying goodbye to someone you love during the holidays. Perhaps because it is the time of year that love is closest to the surface in the majority of us. Regardless, this was written for my daughter the first year she went away from home for Christmas...
*Christmas Farewells* *We say goodbyes with kiss and hug* *Hearts heavy with the sorrow* *Tears brushed aside that blur the view* *Of where we�ll be tomorrow* *We joke to mask the words we know* *Hang on each others tongue-tip poutily* *�Stay, oh stay please don�t go away* *Without your love I�m nobody�* *One more kiss, one more embrace* *Try to capture and retain* *The body heat the essence of love* *The aura that must remain* *She walks away but turns once more* *Reduced in size by space* *A fleeting wave a pretend smile* *A poignant memory of her face* *The Christmas bells ring and the carolers sing* *As her plane lifts through cloud and sky* *Again I brush my tears to the wind* *I must face the loneliness of why*

Such a sad time. Brings back memories of first Christmas away from my parents. But we do have our memories of Christmas times spent together. My Brother stayed with us for a month, his marriage in tatters, but today, got up and did the bolt.... sucks big time, hurt the heck out of all of us, so to this I can relate big time.

I could feel the ache in your heart, Felix and tears welled up in my eyes. I have no family where I live, now, which as a rule I handle just fine, but at the holidays, it always tugs on my heart. Excellent writing, I felt as though I was there with you. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
