Just got back from the hills, with a half dozen trout and a great new outlook. Hope you like this. Felix

Ready to Bare My Heart and Soul Again

I came down from the hills with a clear empty mind

Rinsed out my brain and left my worries behind

Four days in the deep woods, no power…no phone

Curled up by the woodstove with my demons alone

In the city its April they say the beginning of spring

At my cabin it was still winter and no red robins did sing

I kept a fire burning I fished speckled trout through the ice

I could even hear myself singing, that’s always ever so nice

You know I took a bottle of rum in case I needed to deaden the pain

Its now home on my bar and it still fill all the same

I wrote with pen and paper, new poems by the score

Ashamed to admit it most went through my stove’s door

Now I’m ready once more to take on the world’s best

So put me in poet coach my work will pass any old test

My heart may be scarred but it still knows how to care

My soul’s passionate nature I once more will lay bare

So thank you to all who wished me will in the past

Thank you to friends in the den ballots cast

Sometimes writers hurt dearly it’s the price we must pay

To send the world our written canvasses and have our say.

My soul’s passionate nature I once more will lay bare

Felix these words sound an awful lotlike me too. I have mnay times had me heart scarred, but when I met friends here in AD, I put everything on the line. Now my soul's passionate nature is once again laid bare, before my berothed Michael, whom I love so, and my feelings about him, us, me, we, I lay bare before God and all.

A Very good write Felix, so full of emotion, self-discovery, self-doubt, and then realization that your have friends. I enjoyed every word of this.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY SISTERL HUGGGGSSSSS)))))))))), your little sister Barbie.

Welcome back bro.

If I have to...Then I may as well be."

Felix, your spirit sounds like it has been given what it has been in need of. The solitude of your escape sounds to me to be one of the greatest of blessings...albeit cold. Southern boy I am needs the heat. I really liked this write.

I love to curl up next to a wood stove reading and napping the time away. I used to have a mountain cabin and I loved going there alone and enjoying the solitude, the smells and the wonderful rich, fresh mountain air. Welcome home, Felix and back to the paperless writing of poetry. Here we just hit the delete button instead of watching our creativity go up in flames. Somehow the flames seems more poetic. *S*
Take care,
Sherry

Well done poem in form and rhyme. But I envy you the content, the story, the cabin, the fishing. And I wish you well in your refreshed state of mind. Henry
